Very professional, extremely helpful and is trying to get the job done without draining your pockets for all the extras. This is one of the only experiences with a car shop that I didn’t get treated differently or attempt to be scammed because I’m a female. Everyone is side was extremely polite and there was great communication between the mech and myself!The only down side is that they do charge almost $30 extra if you use a debit card to pay instead of cash and that was not disclosed to me until I arrived to pay so something to be aware of!

Dale is always helpful and friendly when I come in with a new dilemma. Moving to a new town my wife and I were nervous to find a new mechanic, but Dale is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. For the rest of our time in NC I know Dale will be our go to mechanic for any and all problems! My sons car broke down and we live over 1k miles away from him so we were limited in helping him. We knew it was going to be an expensive and difficult repair because the car is upgraded with many modifications. When calling repair shops in the area we talked to Dale and he was terrific and so helpful. He fixed the car fast, professional and at a reasonable price. Not every mechanic has the experience and expertise that he has. I would highly recommend this establishment for any future repairs! It's wonderful knowing there's people like him to count on!
I don’t leave reviews but my experience with Patriot Auto was amazing! Del helped me with issues I was having with my truck while taking care of the main reason I was there. He’s not a guy who will try to take your money he wants to figure the problem out first so he’s absolutely sure what he replaces fixes the problem. Not to mention his pricing was cheaper than any other shop around and even then they wouldn’t but absolutely sure they will fix it. I would recommend Patriot Auto 100 out of 100 times! If you have problem going on come to Del first or give him a call!
Del is an amazing mechanic who bends over backwards to make sure your vehicle runs right and you are not getting ripped off. You will not find a better or more fair mechanic in the havelock area.
We are from out of town and called Dale on a Friday morning. He told me to drive right over. His team even gave me a ride back to where we were staying. We needed an alternator. Dale had it sent in and received it on Saturday morning. He came in to fix it for us on Saturday! What a great business. Nice clean shop. Went out of his way to get us back on the road. They have incredible experience with cars. Worth the drive from the beach. Highly recommended! ANOTHER FIVE STAR REVIEW!!!!
My boyfriend took his truck there to have work done. Turns out the place he took it to previously didn’t do the job properly., which was causing the leaking issue he was having. He took it to patriot Automotive, the owner and employees were above and beyond polite courteous helpful and honest. They fixed the problem that the other garage caused and didn’t even charge him. He tried to buy them lunch but they wouldn’t have it. LOL. Great place trustworthy honest Americans. Will take my vehicle there any day!
Excellent work! Very professional and honest. Dale found the best price for what i needed and walked me through my options and explained everything in full detail. Got my car back in perfect condition within two days of the parts coming in. If you need anything at all fixed, these guys can get it done. Highly recommend 👍
Absolutely amazing service! Haven’t even had my work done but am definitely coming back to him when I have the funds! Not only worked with me around my schedule but explained in depth things to do and not do if I end up not having the work done with him. Had less than a day turn around from dropping off a car that wouldn’t shift into Drive to a solution and less than 5 day turn around if I decided to have the work done. Dale is an absolutely amazing person with a sweet heart! Happy to have found his shop!!!
Dale picked up the phone right away when I called, and was so helpful! He is an honest man who fixed a tricky electronics issue on my car when I couldn’t figure it out myself, and he didn’t try to tell me I needed 10 other repairs when I actually didn’t. We have taken our vehicles to Patriots Auto four times now. Most recently, we thought we might have needed our brakes changed. However, upon further inspection, they found that we needed our rear hub assembly changed. They gave us a phone call to let us know what was really going on before they did any work, which we really appreciated. The shop is very knowledgeable, fair priced, and prompt. The employees are friendly and hospitable. We will definitely continue to do our business here.
There is a reason this guy has a 4.9 on google reviews. I just went in to ask about my cars since we were new here. He gave information that made my life easier about the cars for the havelock area. Definitely be going to him for any vehicle work I need done. ( fyi, I've lived in cities like Dallas, el paso, st.louis. NEVER have I seen a 4.9 with any business. A 4.0 generally get my attention)
Mr. Dale up held his word and did a great job on a carburetor rebuild that I couldnt personally do at the time because of my work schedule. He also corrected a few smaller things that he saw. Got it done quickly and efficiently. He also helped me out because of the tight position I was in and worked with my schedule. I will be coming back. Best shop in Havelock hands down. This man has honor and that's hard to find nowadays in the mechanic world.

Would like to thank Patriot Automotive Center. My wife, my younger son, our dog and I all traveled from Michigan to Virginia to pick up my older son and his wife for a family vacation. While in Virginia I had to use the parking brakes because the ground was not level that I was parking on in Virginia. We all left Virginia and headed to Havelock, North Carolina. Among other obligations, we were to go herping in the surrounding public lands. We kept hearing a squeaking noise coming from the back passenger rear wheel. I took the car to 5 shops that said they could not get to my problem for at least a day. The 6th shop was "Patriot Automotive Center". Immediately my car was diagnosed with a bound parking brake cable and fixed within 15 minutes. Here is the truly appreciated part of the saga,...When I asked the person that fixed the car how much I owe them he said, "can you smile real big?" I replied, "yes?" and smiled and he said, "paid in full". All of this generosity was during July 4th tourist season! He refused a gratuity of $20 so we drove off very grateful. Great People!
Cant think of a single better group of mechanics Ive been to than the gentlemen here at Patriot. Dale has handled everyone of my cars ranging from my Lexus to my Viper and has without a doubt done better work than you can ask for. Couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone.

This repair shop is awesome. I had been to several places between MHDC and Havelock and no one would help us. Del was extremely professional and took care of the problem right away. The service provided by Dail and his staff is undescribable! They worked on my 2007 Volvo S60 and it runs better than the day we first bought it. I had the car to multiple mechanics for a check engine light. Most of the mechanics couldn't figure out what was wrong, the rest just flat out said they can't fix the car, and even the Volvo dealer told me there was no reason for the light to be on. So I searched for another mechanic and Patriot Automotive Center came up. Took the car in and Dail hooked it up to his scanner and found around 17 codes that were causing the check engine light. He explained every code and how it could be fixed. If he changed out a sensor or part and the original ended up not being bad, he put the original back in and didn't charge for the unused part (this saved thousands of dollars). He communicated on everything that he did and even showed what work was being done. This is the most transparent business I have ever dealt with! Not only is your car fixed like new when you get it back, but Dail backs his work 100%. All my business will definitely be going to Patriot Automotive!
Went in for problems with a transmission, by far the best experience with an auto shop. As someone who does most of the work on my vehicles myself, I typically stay from auto shops because they always seem to just care about making as much money as they can off of one problem. Dale took time to diagnose potential problems and the solutions on my behalf, even solutions I could try myself first. Seems like a very fair business operator and definitely someone I'd trust coming to.

One stand up operation! My brother's family is traveling to NC from Alabama and their truck's oil gauge starts fluctuating. He stops at a dealership in Columbia, SC to check it out and they say he needs a new motor. We call Dale explaining the situation and the cost estimates provided of between $6 & $8,000... He doesn't believe the diagnosis and recommends towing it up to him. He coordinates the towing, checks bearings, refills the oil and ends up repairing a chaffed wire to the oil pressure gauge...problem resolved. My brother got his truck back in less than a week at a fraction of the cost. Service and professionalism just doesn't get any better... Job well done Dale! You have our business!!!
Very professional and knowledgeable staff! Took my vehicle in and in less than three hours the car was fixed. Dale is extremely well experienced and knowledgeable. This story is a bit lengthy but you NEED TO READ THIS!!
So I'm a corporal in the... Marine Corps, and like any other junior marine I bought a Mustang. The only difference is that my mustang is a 1965. Since I bought it a year ago I've been fixing it up by myself successfully. One month I noticed that my water pump wasn't working. So like usual, I go to fix it after I order the part. I take the radiator out including the hoses, the fan belt, the fan, and finally the water pump, shall I also mention without using any power tools at all. After all of this I find out the part I bought was not the correct part for my engine. So I put everything back together, did I mention no power tools, and I DRIVE IT to this (what I thought to be) good establishment.
We talk about what I need, and we agreed on a price of around $760, which I find to be very reasonable. He calls and asks if I want little things here and there done and says that it'll only add a couple dollars, so I say ok. He continues to call and begins asking if I want to buy a new radiator and all new hoses, which will now bring the price to roughly $1200, so I said no thanks. He asks me to come in and shows me that I have to buy a radiator and that the price is now going to be $1500. Finally, after almost three days he says it's done so I go in to pay and get my car.
I get the bill and it's now at almost $1800! So I request an itemized list of what the F@&$ I'm paying for. Turns out I'm paying $500 in parts, that includes a new radiator, water pump, and the four hoses that connect those things, reasonable. So that leaves roughly $1200 in just labor?! I ask about this and he claims it took four people 15 hours to do the job?!
Let me remind you that I, WITH NO POWER TOOLS, took the water pump, radiator, and all hoses out and put back in within 6 hours. AND THEN I DROVE TO THE SHOP!! And I am not professionally trained in auto repair! But this man tells me that it took four professionals, WITH POWER TOOLS, to do the same thing over double that time!!
Well because I can't prove that they didn't work that many hours and wanting to get my car back, I pay the bill. Now fast forward two months. The water pump I paid good money for is rusting!!! SO HE PUT IN AN UNCOATED METAL WATER PUMP!!!!
So please I hope you read this and don't ever use this place so you don't get put in a financial pit because this guy will take advantage of you!!!read more
We brought my wife’s Prius to Dale’s shop. Our first time there as we were looking for honest small business repair... shop that we could trust. My wife found Patriot on the web and read the reviews. It was worth the trip and Dale is an unbelievable guy and extremely knowledgeable. He saw my wife’s concern as the triangle of death instrument light came on meaning a serious problem! Highly recommend this shop. I called around to about 10 different places and even had my car at 2 different ones,... neither would try to hook up my trailer light wiring. here they didnt even hesitate amd it works perfect! we also were trying to get some work done on our truck. they took a look at it and took their time to see if it could be done. all in all they were very thorough and didnt charge for anything that wasnt able to be done. (also found a way to avoid drilling a hole in my newer car to hook up the trailer wiring! very grateful for that!!)read more
